Project title: English Communication Skills Enhancement and English Proficiency Test Project
Summary:
This project has two sub-projects: the first is English Situational Communication and the second is English Proficiency Tests.
1. Sub-project One: English Situational Communication
This sub-project has 18 workshops on three days. The workshops were based on the departmental characteristics, such as nursing, optometry, food and beverage, tourism, and cosmetics. Students who joined the workshops could learn English communication skills in different situational practices. The number of students joining the workshops is 144 and the post-class survey shows a 92% of satisfaction rate. The following are some of the pictures in class.
   
 
   
   
2. Sub-project Two: English Proficiency Tests
This sub-project has two parts. The first part is English proficiency tests and the second part is preparation classes for English proficiency tests (TOEIC).
(1) Two English proficiency tests were held at school. One is in the format of General English Proficiency Test (GEPT) at the level of Beginner. The other is in the format of TOEIC. There were 393 students joining the GEPT tests and 92 passed the graduate requirement. The passing rate is 23.41%. 26 students joining the TOEIC test and the average score is 304. The highest is 610 and the lowest is 175. 5 students passed the graduate requirement.
(2) Six preparation classes for English proficiency tests were open for students. Each class had 30 hours and the total number of students is 209. After the classes, 31 students joined the official TOEIC test on September 11 and the average score is 304. The following are some of the pictures in class.
